DAY 70: RESULTS OF A SURVEY
Singapore
A recently published survey has listed artists as the least essential workers during the pandemic.
Really!? As we all are experiencing, the globe is in crisis (including massive protests). As history has proved, in times of unrest and upheaval, artists make critical art that conveys complex emotions and controversies of the moment. The artist’s role is “essential.” The survey was conducted in Singapore, but one must ponder, if it had been done in the U.S., would the results be similar?
