Rising Sea Series
Initially inspired by an artist residency on the island of Palmyra, a protected nature reserve in the Pacific Ocean, Taiji Terasaki's work focuses on the effects of climate change and efforts of conservation. He considers not just the direct environmental impacts, but also the loss of cultural heritage sites and the repercussions of climate change on the economy and society. These ideas will be the basis for a major exhibition at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu by Terasaki in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy and Mission Blue opening Spring 2023.
